Specurative Installation
Memorial was conceived as a speculative, futuristic funeral experience through a collaborative project between ArtCenter College of Design and Tama Art University.
While there are ceremonies for those who pass, there are few spaces designed for those left behind. Through a meditative sound and visual journey, the artist explored the potential of audiovisual installations to offer a space where people can both exhale and inhale, finding a sense of release in their grief.
The system was powered by TouchDesigner. Participants created their own box garden using various materials, which generated unique animations. A pressure sensor measured the amount and placement of materials, offering a personalized interaction within the installation.
